Things to See and Do in Redding

REDDING AQUATIC CENTER
State-of-the-art Aquatic Center features an Olympic size, competition class swimming pool. Other features include a recreation pool with zero-depth walk-in entry, a large water play feature, and a 160-foot water slide.

BURNEY FALLS
This spectacular waterfall issues from an underground spring. Even when the above ground stream dries up in the summertime, the falls continue to roar over the 129-foot face of the falls at a chili 47 degrees.

LASSEN VOLCANIC NAT'L PARK
Lassen Peak is reflected in beautiful Manzanita Lake in this photograph taken just inside the north entrance to the park. The park is open year-round; however, vehicle access is limited from December through May.

MT. SHASTA
At 14,161 feet, snow capped Mt. Shasta dominates the northern skies as you journey through the region. Photo opportunities are available from almost every vista point.

SACRAMENTO RIVER
NATIONAL RECREATION TRAIL

The Sacramento River trail meanders for 12 miles along the banks of the cool and beautiful Sacramento River, offering great wildlife viewing, bicycle riding, and photo opportunities.

SCULPTURE PARK AT CITY HALL
Outside the walls of City Hall, the grounds are meticulously landscaped and offer visitors a chance to enjoy permanent and touring works of stone, metal, and Mosaicculture art pieces (such as the one seen here).

THE THREE SHASTAS
Shasta Lake, Shasta Dam, and Mt. Shasta can all be seen in this aerial photo. Shasta Lake is the largest lake in California, and offers visitors their own little piece of paradise on a houseboat, ski boat, or waverunner.

DISCOVERY VILLAGE
Redding is the hub of the northstate and features great restaurants and shopping. Try the Mt. Shasta Mall, or for an al fresco experience, cross the street and visit Discovery Village, featured in this picture.

SUNDIAL BRIDGE AT TURTLE BAY

The Sundial Bridge in Redding has become the favorite subject of many a great photographer. Here, we feature two photos of the bridge for your use, one vertical and the other horizontal.

SUNDIAL BRIDGE AT TURTLE BAY
The Sundial Bridge is an actual working sundial (the largest working sundial in the world that is also a bridge) that casts its shadow on a giant garden-lined dial plate at the north end. Be sure to visit the bridge at night time too, for an even more spectacular photo!

TURTLE BAY EXPLORATION PARK
This photo was taken just inside the Turtle Bay Museum. Photos are not allowed while visiting the museum complex, but be sure to take your camera along to capture photos of the Gardens, the bridge, and the Birds or Butterflies exhibits.

BIG LEAGUE DREAMS SPORTS PARK
This world-class facility features exact 3/4 replicas of three major league ball parks: Boston's Fenway Park, Chicago's Wrigley Field, and New York's Yankee Stadium.

REDDING SOCCER PARK

A one-of-a-kind, "State of the Sport" soccer facility boasting four, all-weather synthetic-turf NCAA regulation sized, lighted fields. The 22-acre complex also features a full restaurant, covered seating, and play area for the tots.
