Staff and school inspections.

Article 186. Prison teachers, in addition to the necessary education, qualifications and teaching practice, should also have training in the field of penitentiary sciences, in particular in the field of applicable legislation. In addition to permanent prison teachers, they may be allowed to teach and give lectures and talks to other people on behalf of patrons of the prison society and cultural and educational institutions with the permission of the Minister of Justice or the prison governor.

§ 188. The School Inspectorate and the bodies of the Ministry of Religious Denominations and Public Education appointed to inspect public schools have the right to supervise prison schools; local governments cooperating with the Ministry of Justice in the field of school education may visit prison schools.

Lectures should be given in prison schools: to study religion, to read and write, geometry, history and geography, to learn about modern science and, as far as possible, to study crafts - in accordance with the program established by the Minister of Religious Affairs and Public Education. In addition, other subjects that fall within the scope of the universal and craft school curriculum can be read, but only with the permission of the Minister of Justice. Textbooks approved for school use by the Minister of Religious and Public Education should be used in prison schools.

Regardless of prison schools, general courses should be organized in prisons, special higher education courses or professional courses (agricultural, horticultural, handicraft, industrial). During these courses, the relevant prisoners who are permanently detained in other prisons may be referred to the appropriate prisoners.

Article 190. The narrowest range of schooling in prisons includes: religious studies, reading, writing and numeracy, as well as basic information about the political system.

The teaching and learning methods adopted in adult schools are applied to the education of prisoners. The lecture should be conducted in the form of observation using scientific manuals and, if possible, a demonstration of a film using a projection lamp or cinematograph.
